At Electronic Design and Development Corp, we live to design. Our designers are out of the box thinkers. We will deliver designs that are as simple as you want to something in the middle or the most advanced state of the art. We are very conscious about practical design and the best design per cost that is achievable. We want to design what is right for you.  THE VDA UNIT - The VDA Unit is a wireless communications system that will make everyday phone calls have live, hands free, two-way color video with sound.  It is truly a state of the art wireless handheld communication system. We believe that it is the only economically deployable system of its type in the world. This system has over 100 different sub systems, forms, and an end to end wireless video conferencing system. This unit operates just like a standard phone except it has live video. What is even better is that you already know how to use it. This system currently has no competition and is believed to be the first of its kind in the world. Now we are not saying someone may have something close to our unit, but we have not yet seen it. We challenge anyone to put their system on the table in front us that does what the VDA can do. This system is currently available for License and is in Patent Pending status (#20030217367).

THE ETS SYSTEM – An ETS is another "first of its kind",  a finished product that is an invaluable aid to marine search and rescue and Vessel Traffic Management operations, including those conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Armed Forces, and private rescue/towing companies by providing faster rescues with associated life-saving abilities, and lower search and rescue costs. This system is used to locate the position of marine vessels in distress when they use their VHF radios. The ETS can locate a vessel and display its position on an electronic chart of the area. It will also verify that it is really coming from off shore and is not just a prank call. The ETS time stamps, dates, and digitally records all radio calls.

It is the only working search and rescue system that substantially complies with criteria set forth in the U.S. Coast Guard’s National Distress and Response System Modernization Project (NDRSMP) multi-billion dollar contract offering. The ETS is a proven product. The Collier County Fire Rescue in Naples, Florida, contacted Harry Romano when they were unable to locate a vessel issuing a Mayday at night during thunderstorms. The ETS located and guided search and rescue teams to the vessel where all other methods had failed (see movie above).  Another time, a client of ours (who was operating one of our custom built high site systems), was commended by the US Coast Guard for in being able to receive a transmitted signal from far away when no other person could (click here).

The ETS features:

• IM technology – allowing the system to operate over POTS lines or other equivalent communications technology

• Longitude and latitude location display of marine vessels experiencing an emergency using their VHF radios

• Automatic chart plotting of the distressed vessel

• Verification that a distress call coming from specified areas, to expose prank calls

• Date and time stamps of all distress calls

• Digital recordings of all radio calls on specified frequencies

• Built-in "High Priority" flagging system

• Automatic activation through voice recognition of distress language, e.g., "Mayday," or "Help"

• Movable base unit positioning

• Asset Tracking System

BIG DOG - What a monster. I still have a headache just thinking about this board. It’s the most advanced board I have ever designed. A State of the art 16 layer LED driver board utilizing 4 Xilinx XCS1500’s, 5 buck power supplies, and 1 inverter supply. All microprocessor controlled with a Microblaze Softcore processor. It is capable of 350 ma. of drive utilizing 768 pulse width modulators at a staggering 16 bit dimming level per color (red, green, and blue). This baby can drive 768 LED’s at once and can be stacked to make a monster video board.

This is a 24 panel LED sign controller. It features an 8 gig flash drive and a Microblaze 32 bit Softcore processor. Ed2 designed all of the software that operates the board as well as the interface to a PC to load the sign.

HEAT/COLD SUIT - This whole body suit was

designed and developed for a client who

wanted to be kept warm while he was hunting

in the cold weather.  Additionally we added

the feature of keeping someone cool for warm

weather applications in our patent which is

in application status (#20100281883 ).
